{"id":10723,"date":"2019-02-14T07:00:14","date_gmt":"2019-02-14T07:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=10723"},"modified":"2019-02-13T10:07:28","modified_gmt":"2019-02-13T10:07:28","slug":"low-loss-20a-to-40a-din-rail-redundancy-module-has-load-sharing-balance-indication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/low-loss-20a-to-40a-din-rail-redundancy-module-has-load-sharing-balance-indication\/","title":{"rendered":"Low loss, 20A to 40A DIN rail redundancy module has load sharing balance indication"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/low-profile-88w-din-rail-power-supply-conforms-to-class-2-and-class-ii-standards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TDK Corporation<\/a><\/span> announces the introduction of the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uk.tdk-lambda.com\/drm40\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DRM40 series of DIN rail mount redundancy modules<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Two 10V to 30Vdc inputs are rated at 20A each and the output at 40A.<\/p>\n<p>A 150% peak load capability for four seconds is provided for capacitive and inductive loading.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe internal MOSFET reverse current protection devices have a low 200mV drop, reducing voltage losses in the module.<\/p>\n<p>An LED on the front panel provides a visual indication when both input currents are balanced and equally sharing the output load.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for the DRM40 modules include factory automation, process control and test and measurement equipment where two power supplies are used in a redundant configuration, paralleled to obtain higher power or for battery charging purposes.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to two front mounted LEDs, the DRM40 has two isolated DC Good PhotoMOS relays to remotely monitor the presence and status of each input voltage.<\/p>\n<p>For cost sensitive applications, the DRM40B model provides the same reverse protection functionality, without the DC Good and current balancing circuitry.<\/p>\n<p>The DRM40 series is housed in a metal enclosure, measuring 124mm in height, 125mm deep and a width of 35mm.<\/p>\n<p>The modules are rated for full load operation in -40\u00b0C to +70\u00b0C ambient temperatures.<\/p>\n<p>Both units are safety certified to IEC\/EN\/UL\/CSA 60950-1, IEC\/EN\/UL\/CSA 62368-1 and UL 508, and CE marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the DRM40 series of DIN rail mount redundancy modules.
