{"id":11276,"date":"2019-03-25T10:00:46","date_gmt":"2019-03-25T10:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=11276"},"modified":"2019-03-21T10:48:12","modified_gmt":"2019-03-21T10:48:12","slug":"8-0-inch-rugged-wxga-tft-display","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/8-0-inch-rugged-wxga-tft-display\/","title":{"rendered":"8.0-inch Rugged+ WXGA TFT display"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Industrial LCD manufacturer KOE have announced the introduction of a new 8.0-inch Rugged+ TFT display module.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.koe.j-display.com\/\">TX20D207VM0AAA<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.koe.j-display.com\">A<\/a><\/strong> features WXGA (1280 x 768 pixels) resolution, a 15:9 wide aspect ratio, IPS (in-plane switching) technology which provides exceptional image quality when viewed at any viewing angle, zero bright dot defects and robust operating characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rugged+ 8.0-inch display is designed for use in high reliability industrial, medical, in-vehicle, marine and aerospace applications where consistent and guaranteed operation under extreme temperature, mechanical shock and vibration conditions is paramount.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KOE&#8217;s Rugged+ display modules share their optical and environmental characteristics with the same demanding standards used in automotive specification display modules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For dedicated human-machine interface applications, IPS display technology delivers exceptional colour saturation and image stability, high contrast and deep black levels with 176\u00b0 wide viewing angles (vertical and horizontal).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 8.0-inch display features a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a white LED backlight with a brightness of 1000cd\/m\u00b2 and a specified 70K hour half-brightness lifetime.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The display module also features an integrated LED backlight driver. These key attributes deliver display images that are crisp, colourful and bright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KOE&#8217;s Rugged+ TX20D207VM0AAA also features an enhanced cosmetic specification which defines zero bright dot defects i.e. no dead pixels with a bright failure mode.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Display modules with dot defects are hugely undesirable if the dead pixels are in the central part of the viewable display area and easily observed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KOE&#8217;s zero bright dot defects specification provides users with greater confidence and the peace of mind delivered by a premium display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jason Tsai, Marketing Manager, KOE, said: &#8220;The latest Rugged+ display employs IPS technology, which delivers excellent optical performance with wide viewing angles and highly consistent colour presentation.
