{"id":11908,"date":"2019-04-30T11:58:53","date_gmt":"2019-04-30T10:58:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=11908"},"modified":"2019-04-30T11:58:57","modified_gmt":"2019-04-30T10:58:57","slug":"ultra-high-precision-thick-film-chip-resistors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/ultra-high-precision-thick-film-chip-resistors\/","title":{"rendered":"Ultra-high-precision thick-film chip resistors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RS Components has announced availability of a new series of high-reliability thick-film chip resistors from KOA that are designed for high-precision use cases such as automation in industrial application or battery designs in the automotive sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.rs-online.com\/web\/c\/passive-components\/fixed-resistors\/surface-mount-fixed-resistors\/?applied-dimensions=4291486173\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"RS73 series of ultra-high-precision metal-glaze thick-film resistors (opens in a new tab)\">RS73 series of ultra-high-precision metal-glaze thick-film resistors<\/a><\/strong> offer tolerances of \u00b10.1% and a TCR of 25 ppm\/\u00b0C. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series has also shown excellent long-term stability characteristics in reliability tests with resistance changing only by \u00b10.2%, typically, or up to \u00b10.4% with long-term exposure to higher temperatures in harsh environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key feature of the range is that the devices are AEC-Q200 qualified for use in automotive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the series employs the manufacturer\u2019s advanced technological know-how to protect against \u2018sulphuration\u2019. In this process, inner electrodes of chip resistors can react with sulphur gas, leading to the creation of silver sulphide and possible circuit disconnection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Offering a resistance range from 100- up to 1M-Ohm, other key characteristics include an operating voltage of up to 100V, and up to 150V overload voltage; and an operating temperature range of \u201355 up to +155\u00b0C.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed for surface mounting, the chip resistor series comes with lead-free terminations to meet EU RoHS requirements, and is suitable for both flow and reflow soldering processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KOA RS73 thick-film chip resistor range is now shipping from RS in EMEA, Asia Pacific and North America.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RS Components has announced availability of a new series of high-reliability thick-film chip resistors from KOA that are designed for high-precision use cases such as automation in industrial application or battery designs in the automotive sector.
