{"id":12344,"date":"2019-05-21T11:43:48","date_gmt":"2019-05-21T10:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=12344"},"modified":"2019-05-21T11:43:53","modified_gmt":"2019-05-21T10:43:53","slug":"12kw-fibre-laser-cutting-machine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/12kw-fibre-laser-cutting-machine\/","title":{"rendered":"12kW fibre laser cutting machine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Swiss sheet metalworking equipment manufacturer, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bystronic.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Bystronic (opens in a new tab)\">Bystronic<\/a><\/strong>, whose UK subsidiary is in Coventry, has introduced a new version of its ByStar Fiber flatbed laser cutting machine with a 12 kW source for faster, more efficient production of components. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The previous maximum laser power was 10kW, compared with which the latest model is on average 20% more productive when cutting with nitrogen as the assist gas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fibre laser cutting centre has a new BeamShaper function and a newly designed cutting head that ensures consistent quality of cut when processing material thicknesses from 3mm up to a maximum of 30mm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"668\" src=\"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Bystronic-1095-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Bystronic-1095-2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Bystronic-1095-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Bystronic-1095-2-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Bystronic-1095-2-800x534.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results are reduced cost per cut, shorter delivery times, reliable operation across a broad spectrum of applications and low maintenance costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cutting head is the key element for achieving stable cutting and consistently high quality, especially as laser power increases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new, slimline design features more efficient cooling, a reduced number of components and enhanced resistance to the ingress of contaminants, lowering maintenance costs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BeamShaper function, which can be factory-fitted or retrofitted later, enables exceptional quality when cutting thicker steel plate. It optimises the shape of the laser beam to increase speed and improve the quality of cut edges when processing material in the 20mm to 30mm thickness range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To provide optimal material flow to match the high-speed laser cutting, Bystronic has a broad selection of automation solutions available for the ByStar Fiber.
