{"id":12500,"date":"2019-06-02T10:00:08","date_gmt":"2019-06-02T09:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=12500"},"modified":"2019-05-30T09:27:52","modified_gmt":"2019-05-30T08:27:52","slug":"thermal-imager-microscope-lens-for-temperature-monitoring-of-ultra-small-targets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/thermal-imager-microscope-lens-for-temperature-monitoring-of-ultra-small-targets\/","title":{"rendered":"Thermal imager microscope lens for temperature monitoring of ultra-small targets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Precision sensor manufacturer <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.micro-epsilon.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Micro-Epsilon (opens in a new tab)\">Micro-Epsilon<\/a><\/strong> has introduced a microscope lens that enables the temperature monitoring of ultra-small components.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lens is available as an upgrade for the thermoIMAGER TIM 450 and TIM 640 high-resolution thermal imaging cameras, enabling thermographic macro shooting of individual components based on a spatial resolution of up to 28\u00b5m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the new microscope lens, the thermoIMAGER TIM 450 high resolution thermal imaging camera (382&#215;288 pixels) and TIM 640 (640&#215;480 pixels) can detect minor temperature differences at high precision and high reliability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The microscope lens was developed specifically for PCB (printed circuit board) temperature measurements, PCB assembly monitoring and for inspecting micro-sized solder and weld joints.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the lens is also suitable for a wide range of other industrial and laboratory-based temperature monitoring applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to overall temperature profile images and videos, detailed macro shooting of individual objects is now possible in real time at up to 125Hz based on a spatial resolution of up to 28\u00b5m.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The distance between the camera and the object to be measured can be up to 100mm. The camera can be freely positioned within this range. Scalable temperature ranges are from -20\u00b0C to +100\u00b0C, from 0\u00b0C to 250\u00b0C, and from 150\u00b0C to 900\u00b0C.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the large working distance, temperature measurements of electronic components can be carried out during electrical parameter function tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lens enables the display and rapid analysis of quickly changing temperatures and to record radiometric videos and images.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The data can be exported and evaluated with other programs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A process interface cable, a USB cable, a high quality tripod and the comprehensive TIM Connect evaluation software are included in the scope of supply.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Precision sensor manufacturer Micro-Epsilon has introduced a microscope lens that enables the temperature monitoring of ultra-small components.\u00a0 The lens is available as an upgrade for the thermoIMAGER TIM 450 and TIM 640 high-resolution thermal imaging cameras, enabling thermographic macro shooting of individual components based on a spatial resolution of up to 28\u00b5m.
