New research from leading job board, CV-Library<\/a><\/strong>, reveals the key skills that employers in the engineering sector are favouring right now, including the ability to adapt (71.1%), resilience (54.4%) and a willingness to upskill (47.8%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study, which surveyed 300 UK employers on the top skills they believe are most important in a potential hire right now, found that companies within the engineering sector are keen to see candidates excelling in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Ability to adapt (71.1%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Resilience (54.4%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Willingness to upskill (47.8%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Ability to change (26.7%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Ability to balance work and personal life (22.2%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Networking (16.7%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library comments: \u201cThe world of work is constantly changing, influenced by a range of factors; from technological advances and rapidly evolving jobs, to a change in employee expectations and a rise in remote working. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEmployers have a duty of care for their workers and with workplace stress and economic upheaval seeing no signs of disappearing, it\u2019s no wonder that companies are prioritising candidates that can excel in these areas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the study, 87.6% of employers in the engineering industry say they take a proactive approach to helping their employees upskill, believing that it\u2019s important to do so for the following reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* To retain top performing members of staff (67.8%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* To develop employees careers in the company (65.6%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* To remain competitive against other companies (57.8%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* To build an internal talent pipeline (50%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* To help overcome nationwide skills shortages (18.9%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
