According to the latest job market data from the UK independent job board, CV-Library<\/a><\/strong>, the amount of professionals applying for new\u00a0engineering jobs increased by 21.9% last month, though the number of jobs on offer dropped by 1.7% year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The findings, which compared job market data from June 2019 with the same period last year, also found that salaries only saw a marginal increase of 0.9%, rising from an average of \u00a335,760 in June 2018, to \u00a336,077 in June 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library, comments: \u201cThe fact that there are more active job hunters in the market makes now a great time for engineering firms to ramp up their hiring efforts.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHowever, it seems that businesses are still hesitant to do so; though this isn\u2019t unusual during the summer months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt the same time, we know that there\u2019s a great amount of uncertainty around our future in the EU; especially with the Tory leadership race ongoing. But our data suggests that employers should use this time to invest in their recruitment plans and improve their chances of making a great hire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the above, the amount of engineering professionals looking for work online grew by 49.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biggins continues: \u201cWe\u2019re noticing an increase in candidate appetite across the board and there could be a number of factors influencing this. From the hot weather, to booming employment rates; it\u2019s clear that job hunters are feeling confident, certainly a lot more so than this time last year.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
