Novotek UK and Ireland<\/a><\/strong>, the industrial automation and digital transformation expert, will again team-up with GE Digital to deliver an industrial digitalisation discovery day in Manchester, UK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It follows successful days in Northampton, UK, and Dublin, Ireland, that attracted industrial, utilities and infrastructure business leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The free event takes place at the Science and Industry Museum, Liverpool Road, Manchester, on September 25th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Novotek and GE\u2019s free-to-attend digital day in Manchester will offer a thought-provoking exploration of how business can harness changing information and operational technologies (IT and OT) to achieve flexibility and reduce costs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a surprise that most attendees at our previous digital days identified organisational challenges as the biggest blocks to finding value from new technology,\u201d said George Walker, managing director of Novotek UK and Ireland. \u201cIt\u2019s not just about using technology but understanding how these systems support wider business functions, such as supply chain management and asset investment strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese findings prompted us to really highlight how the right tools and approaches will always serve multiple stakeholders\u2019 needs. The key is simple: to help business leaders see how one department\u2019s requirements are a reflection or an aspect of another\u2019s – it\u2019s about making connections between people, processes and assets. Fincore, the specialist in data and risk management, will present a case study about how energy company Scottish & Southern Energy Connections used advanced analytics and digital twins to better understand why power poles can break or collapse.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this instance, modern data platforms and methods made it possible to conduct data experiments quickly and yielded surprising insights into the factors affecting the power poles\u2019 health and effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other highlights include a presentation and workshop hosted by Hans J\u00f8rgen Lynggaard of ROB-EX A\/S Lynggaard, the IT and engineering production scheduling specialist, on the best practices for adopting scheduling tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVisitors to our previous digital days all ranked improving scheduling capabilities as their number one, or number two, priority,\u201d added Sean Robinson. \u201cThis is a big shift from previous years, where general areas of productivity were mainly emphasised. We\u2019ll also demonstrate how new tools and technologies integrate alongside existing systems.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
