{"id":14004,"date":"2019-09-04T07:00:22","date_gmt":"2019-09-04T06:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=14004"},"modified":"2019-09-03T09:24:58","modified_gmt":"2019-09-03T08:24:58","slug":"600w-medical-and-industrial-programmable-power-supplies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/600w-medical-and-industrial-programmable-power-supplies\/","title":{"rendered":"600W medical and industrial programmable power supplies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>TDK Corporation<\/strong> announces the introduction of a ruggedised option to the GXE600 series of 600W rated programmable AC-DC power supplies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GXE600\/HD meets MIL\u2011STD\u2011810G shock and vibration and is safety certified to both the IEC 60601-1 medical and IEC 62368-1 industrial standards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These convection cooled 1U high products can be programmed digitally across a wide range using an RS-485 interface (Modbus RTU protocol) or with a 0\u20116V external voltage.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Target applications are harsh environment medical and industrial equipment requiring quiet operation, fan-less cooling with constant voltage and constant current programmability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series is available with a 24V or 48V nominal output supply and can be programmed to provide a constant voltage, constant current (CVCC) source.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The voltage adjustment range is from 20 to 120% and the current from 20 to 100%. Protection and recovery parameters can be set, as can the rise time slew rate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Via the digital communications interface, the power supplies can also indicate the estimated remaining electrolytic capacitor lifetime, operating run-time and alarm history to enable remote preventative maintenance indication or fault finding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To provide resistance to dust and dirt ingress, the printed circuit boards are selectively coated to prevent a build-up of contaminants from interfering with the operation of the supply.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An optional cover (\/HDA suffix) is also available to reduce the likelihood of accidental contact with the internal circuitry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shock and vibration testing have been performed to MIL\u2011STD\u2011810G 516.7 Procedure I, VI and MIL-STD-810G 514.7 Category 4, 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The power supplies operate from a wide-range input of 85 to 265Vac with an earth leakage current of &amp;lt;300\u00b5A and dual fuses as standard. They can be used in ambient temperatures of \u201120\u00b0C to +70\u00b0C (\u201140\u00b0C start up), derating linearly above 50\u00b0C to 50% load at 70\u00b0C.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Derating or external cooling is required below 170Vac input. The fully featured series also has an isolated 5V 1A standby voltage, remote on\/off, DC Good and AC Fail isolated signals, with paralleling capability for up to five units. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GXE600\/HD case dimensions are a compact 127 x 41 x 254mm (W x H x L) and 127.5 x 50 x 254mm for the \/HDA cover version.
