That is according to new research from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/<https:\/\/www.cv-library.co.uk\/cvdatabase&gt;\">CV-Library<\/a><\/strong>, the UK independent job board. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study, which surveyed over 300 UK employers, also found that 27.7% of engineering bosses have had to give a verbal warning to a member of staff, while 10.6% had to suspend someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked what they believe is the most inappropriate behaviour in the workplace, employers cite the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Being physically aggressive and\/or confrontational \u2013 78.8%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Turning up to work drunk \u2013 75.3%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Using illegal substances \u2013 71.8%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Getting angry with colleagues \u2013 18.8%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Sending inappropriate emails \u2013 14.1%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Flirting with clients\/customers &#8211; 8.2%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Turning up hungover \u2013 5.9%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Flirting with colleagues \u2013 5.9%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Complaining about workload \u2013 4.7%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Text on their personal phone \u2013 4.7%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><li>Tell inappropriate jokes \u2013 3.5%\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library, comments:\u201cInappropriate behaviour from your employees should not be tolerated in the workplace. You want to maintain a professional and mature atmosphere in your company, and this simply cannot be achieved if your staff are acting inappropriately.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the data, a staggering 96.5% of industry employers believe these are sackable offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biggins continues: \u201cUnfortunately, our findings reveal a shockingly high number of engineers have been inappropriate in the workplace, possibly due to poor employee education. Saying that, there are some actions, such as turning up intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances, which are simply inexcusable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEducate your employees on what is deemed as inappropriate at work to avoid any grey areas. Their induction is the perfect time for this.
