{"id":14515,"date":"2019-10-29T10:00:26","date_gmt":"2019-10-29T10:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=14515"},"modified":"2019-10-28T10:29:51","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T10:29:51","slug":"thermal-camera-for-automotive-diagnosis-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/thermal-camera-for-automotive-diagnosis-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Thermal camera for automotive diagnosis applications"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RS Components (RS) has announced availability of a new thermal camera from FLIR, a maker of intelligent sensing products for industrial markets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>TG275 thermal camera<\/strong> is ideal for automotive maintenance and repair technicians, helping them to accelerate diagnostic procedures and avoid undetected problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combining non-contact thermal measurement and thermal imaging to help technicians troubleshoot repairs, spot potential faults and record images, the imager is particularly effective for diagnosing problems in relays and switches, parasitic drain on the battery, drive train components and HVAC systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key technical specifications of the TG275 include a 19,200-pixel resolution infrared camera and a temperature measurement range from \u201325\u00b0C extending up to +550\u00b0C.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The unit also employs FLIR\u2019s MSX (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging) technology, which adds visible light details to thermal images in real time. This delivers greater clarity by embedding edge and outline detail on top of thermal readings. This high level of sharp visual detail performed by the unit is displayed on a vibrant 2.4-inch LCD screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other specifications include a 57\u00b0\u00d7 44\u00b0 field of view (FoV) and thermal sensitivity of less than 70mK. High temperature measurement accuracy of \u00b11.5\u00b0C features across the +50 to 100\u00b0C range, shifting to \u00b13\u00b0C across the \u201325 to +50\u00b0C and +100 to +550\u00b0C ranges.
