{"id":14731,"date":"2019-11-18T08:00:20","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T08:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=14731"},"modified":"2019-11-14T12:16:51","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T12:16:51","slug":"pressure-switches-suit-a-wide-range-of-pressure-switching-tasks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/pressure-switches-suit-a-wide-range-of-pressure-switching-tasks\/","title":{"rendered":"Pressure switches suit a wide range of pressure switching tasks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Aimed at industrial pressure switching applications for air, water, hydraulic fluid, other oil-based and liquid mediums, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.variohm.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Variohm EuroSensor\u2019s EPS series<\/a><\/strong> includes three different environment-matched models, each competitively priced for pressure ranges from 0.3 to 350bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For general purpose low pressure switching, the EPS-01 series includes a sealed brass housing with an IP65 rating and features silver plated microswitch contacts, NBR diaphragm and a G 1\/8 pressure port (with other port thread types on request).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two models offer pressure ranges 0.3 to 2bar and 1 to 10bar with switch-point setting via a set-screw.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For pressure switching tasks where the external environment requires a more resilient housing material, the EPS-02 series offers similar specifications and pressure range options as the EPS-01 series but is housed in a VA 1.4305 stainless steel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally the EPS-02 offers a choice of silver or gold microswitch contacts.&nbsp; Both models offer a 100 VA switch breaking capacity with electrical connection via flat pins and a switch-back difference accuracy of under 10%.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a generous 20 bar overpressure limit, design options available for the EPS-01 and EPS-02 include a Viton diaphragm where increased switching resilience is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For higher pressure switching or for greater application flexibility, the EPS-03 series covers five model types as a spring loaded diaphragm design for pressures from 0.5 to 10 bar or a spring loaded piston design for pressures to 350 bar &#8211; with nitrile diaphragm\/piston as standard or optional Viton on request.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generous working and overpressure limits provide safety and reliable use.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A durable galvanised steel housing offers an IP65 rating and is complete with a PG9 electrical connection for switch breaking capacity that suits AC-12 and DC12 resistance loads or AC-14 and DC-13 inductive loads.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where lower switched voltages can be accommodated (42 V), an M12 x 1 round connector is optionally available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With set-screw adjustment and switch back difference of 15-30%, application suitability and price flexibility is safeguarded with silver plated contact micro switches as standard or gold-plated contacts on request.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a wide choice of pressure ports covers G1\/8, G1\/4, M10x1 and M12x1.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the EPS range, media temperature range is&nbsp; -25 to +85 \u00b0C&nbsp; with higher temperatures on request, whilst reliability and performance is ensured with a mechanical life of over 1 million cycles and a switching frequency of 200\/min.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EPS series switches are part of a wide range of sensor technologies available from Variohm EuroSensor that measurement for position, displacement force, pressure, load, and temperature.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aimed at industrial pressure switching applications for air, water, hydraulic fluid, other oil-based and liquid mediums, Variohm EuroSensor\u2019s EPS series includes three different environment-matched models, each competitively priced for pressure ranges from 0.3 to 350bar.
