{"id":14770,"date":"2019-11-21T07:00:26","date_gmt":"2019-11-21T07:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=14770"},"modified":"2019-11-20T10:18:37","modified_gmt":"2019-11-20T10:18:37","slug":"tdk-corporation-announces-the-introduction-of-the-tdk-lambda-brand-fqb-series-of-20a-40vdc-rated-emc-filters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/tdk-corporation-announces-the-introduction-of-the-tdk-lambda-brand-fqb-series-of-20a-40vdc-rated-emc-filters\/","title":{"rendered":"20A 40Vdc MIL-COTS filters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emea.lambda.tdk.com\/uk\/fqb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"TDK Corporation (opens in a new tab)\">TDK Corporation<\/a><\/strong> announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda brand FQB series of 20A 40Vdc rated EMC filters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These filter modules provide protection for DC-DC converters against input voltage surges and spikes through the use of active circuitry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FQB MIL-COTS series is designed for the harsh environments found in 28Vdc nominal input vehicle and airborne applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The filters have high differential and common mode noise attenuation, simplifying system level compliance to the MIL-STD-461(F, G) standard.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The module\u2019s surge and spike protection also assists qualification to MIL-STD-1275(D, E) and RTCA\/DO-160G (Sec 16-18). Qualifying testing is consistent with MIL-STD-883F and MIL-STD-202G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FQB has an operating input voltage range of 8.5Vdc to 40Vdc, and can withstand transients of up to -50 to +210V.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally it provides reverse input, under\/over voltage and over current protection.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A remote on\/off function and an open collector DC Good\/Fault signal is fitted as standard.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vehicle battery drain is minimised by a no-load current consumption of typically 3mA, which is reduced to just 1.5mA when the remote on\/off function is initiated. The total DC resistance of the filter is typically 30m&amp;Omega;, further minimising power losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FQB filters have standard production screening (-S suffix) and a baseplate temperature rating of -40\u02daC to +115\u02daC, or enhanced screening (-M suffix) and an extended temperature rating of -55\u02daC to +115\u02daC.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enhanced screening includes functional testing at high and low temperatures and a 96 hour burn-in period with temperature cycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PCB mount FQB is cooled using either an industry standard 1\/4 brick heatsink, or conduction cooled via a cold plate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The non-flanged package measures 60.6 x 39 x 12.7mm (L x W x H) and the flanged version 60.6 x 55.9 x 12.7mm.
