The fourth edition of the Plastics Recycling Show Europe will examine the latest trends in the plastics recycling sector at its free-to-attend conference taking place at the RAI Amsterdam on 25th and 26th March 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two-day event\u2019s outline programme has been announced featuring prominent speakers from across Europe\u2019s plastics recycling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference will provide a holistic view of the whole plastic recycling value chain, drawing together political leaders, major brands, recyclers and the plastics recycling and manufacturing industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mattia Pellegrini, Head of Unit: Waste Management and Secondary Materials, DG ENV, at the European Commission<\/li>
Immo Sander, Head of Packaging Development, Werner & Mertz<\/li>

Sylvie Thomas, Head of EMEA Sustainability Policies at Lexmark<\/li>
Roberta Bernasconi, Senior Manager EMEA Sustainability at Whirlpool<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The European Commission\u2019s Mattia Pellegrini will deliver the opening keynote on 25 March in the session entitled The New Reality for Plastics<\/em>. This session will look at the current state of the affairs and new developments of the plastics-related EU legislation against the background of the European Green Deal, the Circular Economy Action Plan and the new term of both the European Commission and the European Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following materials focus sessions will explore the challenges, issues and opportunities within the sector for mechanical recycling, with sessions covering PET, PVC and Technical Plastics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each material focus session will be overseen by the relevant Working Group Chairman from Plastics Recyclers Europe. Roberta Bernasconi from Whirlpool, Karl Edsj\u00f6 of Electrolux and Sylvie Thomas of Lexmark & Luc Lavergne of Lavergne Group all speak in the Technical Plastics session that concludes Day One.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second day\u2019s opening conference session is Global Solutions and Regional Actions on Plastic Waste. This session will examine existing and developing worldwide solutions to the transboundary problems of marine litter. It will also highlight the success of some of the latest local initiatives combatting unwanted plastic waste in the environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joining Daniel Merillet of The One Project in this session will be Hans Axel Kristensen, CEO of Plastix A\/S and Dorothea Wiplinger, Sustainability Manager – Strategy & Group Development at Borealis AG.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMattia Pellegrini, Head of Unit: Waste Management and Secondary Materials, DG ENV, at the European Commission, will deliver the opening keynote at the Plastics Recycling Show 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Day two continues with polyolefin material focus sessions which will examine the current status of polyolefin waste streams including high- and low-density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE). Speakers in the sessions include Immo Sander of Werner & Mertz, Andreas Malmberg of Trioplast and Prof Dr-Ing Gilian Gerke, Resource Management, University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference concludes with a final material focus session looking at polypropylene (PP) recycling, a new addition to the programme for 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Organised jointly by Crain Communications and Plastics Recyclers Europe, PRSE is a pan-European, free-to-attend exhibition and a conference designed specifically for plastics recycling professionals. It brings together key players from across the entire plastics recycling value chain to showcase innovative technology, share best practice, network and do business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Organisations exhibiting at the event include plastics recycling machinery and equipment suppliers, plastic material suppliers and compounders, pre-processors, plastics recyclers, waste management specialists and industry associations. The 2019 edition hosted 3,250 delegates and 120 exhibiting companies. Over 160 companies have already booked to exhibit at PRSE 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
