{"id":16558,"date":"2020-05-07T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-07T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=16558"},"modified":"2020-05-06T11:34:43","modified_gmt":"2020-05-06T10:34:43","slug":"250-450w-power-supply-for-healthcare-industrial-and-ite-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/250-450w-power-supply-for-healthcare-industrial-and-ite-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"250\/450W power supply for healthcare, industrial and ITE applications"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xppower.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">XP Power<\/a><\/strong> announces the new ECH450 series of compact, high efficiency power supplies available in open frame or a range of enclosed formats.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delivering 250W when convection cooled and the full 450W when force cooled, or when using the enclosed versions with an integral fan, the ECH450 series offers class B conducted &amp; radiated emissions and carries worldwide information technology equipment (ITE) and medical approvals making it ideal for a vast range of industrial, IT and healthcare applications including those requiring BF patient protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The convection cooled ratings make these power supplies ideally suited to medical device applications, where audible noise is undesirable, and industrial or ITE applications where fan-less operation increases reliability and minimises dust ingress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With efficiency levels up to 94%, ECH450 power supplies minimise waste heat, reduce operational costs and save space. They operate at full rated power at ambient temperatures up to +50\u00baC without derating \u2013 and at half power at +70\u00baC ambient.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peak load applications are supported up to 450W with convection cooling with average power up to 250W.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ECH450 units start at a compact 5.0-in x 3.0-in footprint with a low 1.4-in profile and have a universal input range for global use. Single output voltages available are 12.0V, 15.0V, 19.0V, 24.0V, 36.0V, 48.0V and 54.0V.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A number of mechanical configurations are available including fan-less units that are open frame or fitted with an optional vented cover (-C).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Units with an integral fan have the option of either an end fan (-EF) or a top fan (-TF) to suit the airflow requirements of the end equipment with the choice of formats ensuring&nbsp; easy mechanical integration. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The open frame and vented cover (-C) units include a 12V, 600mA fan supply to power a remotely located cooling fan and all versions come with a 5V\/1A standby supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medical approvals to IEC60601-1 provide two means of patient protection (2 x MOPP) input to output isolation and this, along with basic isolation from output to ground and low levels of leakage current, ensure that ECH450 power supplies are suitable for body floating (BF) applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as IEC, UL and EN60601-1 approvals for medical applications, the ECH450 is approved to IEC, UL and EN62368-1 for industrial and ITE applications while compliance with Class C input current harmonics makes the ECH450 ideal for lighting and display applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new power supplies meet EN55011\/32 Level B conducted and radiated emissions with a significant margin allowing designers to integrate them easily and with minimal risk to system level EMC approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ECH450 series is available from Digi-Key, Farnell, Mouser, RS Components, approved regional distributors, or direct from XP Power and offer a three-year warranty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>XP Power announces the new ECH450 series of compact, high efficiency power supplies available in open frame or a range of enclosed formats.\u00a0 Delivering 250W when convection cooled and the full 450W when force cooled, or when using the enclosed versions with an integral fan, the ECH450 series offers class B conducted &amp; radiated emissions &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":16560,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[104],"tags":[8223,8224,2354],"class_list":["post-16558","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-electronics","tag-250-450w-power-supply","tag-ech450-power-supplies","tag-xp-power"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
