{"id":17043,"date":"2020-06-10T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=17043"},"modified":"2020-06-09T12:23:36","modified_gmt":"2020-06-09T11:23:36","slug":"covid-19-social-distancing-wearable-for-returning-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/covid-19-social-distancing-wearable-for-returning-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"Covid-19: social distancing wearable for returning workers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Equivital, a company that develops professional wearable technology, announces the launch of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.equivital.com\/products\/social-distancing-device\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eqWave<\/a><\/strong>, a wearable social distancing device which enables workers to return to work with confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developed with staff safety in mind, the compact eqWave device works out-of-the-box, alerting personnel if they are within two metres of each other. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The alerting distance is configurable and can be changed in line with current government guidelines.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"285\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/5Asset-1-100.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17078\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/5Asset-1-100.jpg 285w, https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/5Asset-1-100-216x300.jpg 216w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 285px) 100vw, 285px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>eqWave can be worn anywhere, even with PPE, and uses highly accurate Ultra Wide Band (UWB) radio and Bluetooth technology to detect other devices and measure the distance between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The device offers 360-degree coverage and if there is an infringement it will alert the wearer via a bright LED and haptic vibration that someone else is within two metres.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In these unprecedented times, eqWave offers employers the ability to provide a safer working environment for staff so that they can confidently adhere to social distancing guidelines while at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to support employers to be able to bring their teams back to work safely,\u201d said Anmol Sood, CEO Equivital. \u201cAn organisation has a duty of care for its workforce. eqWave is an added measure in ensuring their safety and well-being.
