The latest employment data from the UK independent job board CV-Library<\/a><\/strong>, \u200bshows that the country’s second lockdown is impacting the job market far less than the first week of the previous lockdown in March.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, job postings for the week commencing 5th November were up an incredible 89.9% when compared to the week beginning 23rd March 2020, and across all sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, job applications were actually up 8.9% on the previous seven days, prior to lockdown, although there were expected declines in the retail (-14.6%) and leisure and tourism (-28.6%) sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library comments: “This is encouraging news. No-one could be sure of the impact of a second lockdown, but many organisations feared the worst. So, to be able to report an almost 90% increase in job postings is both significant and heartening. This data suggests that many businesses feel confident and able to weather the storm of this second lockdown and are still moving forward with thier hiring plans.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
