a unique part number will then be created and kept on record to facilitate simple re-orders in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, to guarantee excellence, the whole process is controlled by our ISO 9001 quality systems.<\/p>\n<p>It stands to reason that the result of every project we undertake is unique, but we can broadly fit our solutions into two categories: customised or bespoke.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2674\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2674\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Op3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2674\" src=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Op3-300x223.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Op3-300x223.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Op3.jpg 484w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2674\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">After a design briefing and the creation of a Product Design Specification, the team compiles a series of concept solutions which can include line drawings, 3D CAD models and initial prototypes created using 3D printing and other rapid prototyping technologies<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Very often we discover that we can customise an existing part or combine standard components to deliver the performance the customer demands.<\/p>\n<p>Where this isn\u2019t possible we will build the part \u2018from the ground up\u2019 and identify the right manufacturer to reliably deliver it.<\/p>\n<p>For one customer, a successful manufacturer of industrial LED lighting solutions, we were able to develop an elegant, customised LED rivet design that helped to increase installation speed and create flexibility in the production line.<\/p>\n<p>The industry standard tapping screw that\u2019s used to fix the LED circuit board to the panel required a manual process for installation which demanded specialised tooling.<br \/>\nOur team was able to modify an existing push fit rivet to retain to a standard LED PCB; adjust its material construction to improve UV resistance; and also design in a solution to enable disassembly with a single screw driver in the event of maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the customer was not only able to speed up the production line, but during busy periods it was possible to move the process to \u2018overflow workstations\u2019 that weren\u2019t equipped with any additional tooling.<\/p>\n<p>In another example, we worked with a designer of high-end car conversions. We employed an overmoulding finishing process to make sure the part had a long lasting, quality finish and that it would be comfortable in the hand.<\/p>\n<p>Because we operate a personal service based on product expertise and an understanding of our customers\u2019 industries, we are always keen to offer support throughout all stages of specification.<\/p>\n<p>Only when we are sure that our design service is the best option for a customer will we suggest it.
