With the NXD tupH\u00a0surface treatment developed by NORD, drive components such as gear units, smooth motors and frequency inverters are given safe surface protection in wash-down areas, making aluminium drives an efficient and durable alternative for the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Treatment of aluminium surfaces<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the\u00a0NXD tupH\u00a0surface treatment, NORD makes the surfaces of drives with aluminium housings particularly corrosion-resistant. Aluminium is lightweight, economical and fully recyclable. Furthermore, aluminium housings provide better heat conductivity than, for example, stainless steel, thus reducing their maximum surface temperature. The NXD tupH surface treatment consists of a base layer; the upper layer of the aluminium body is transformed into a corrosion-resistant layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An extreme resistance with better hardness compared to an untreated aluminium alloy is reached in combination with a sealer. This process prevents flaking or corrosive infiltration so that the protective effect will remain unchanged even in case of minor mechanical damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The surfaces of drives treated with NXD tupH\u00a0are largely resistant to acids and alkalis, and can be cleaned easily, thoroughly and hygienically. The surface treatment offers great advantages for use in hygienically critical areas in the food, beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
