Parker Hannifin announces the launch of its Global Vehicle Motor (GVM) series, GVM210 Gen 2<\/a><\/strong>, a development of its electric motor platform engineered to help OEMs and integrators accelerate vehicle electrification across on- and off-highway applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second-generation development builds on the GVM210 platform with updates focused on easier installation and integration, enhanced safety, and increased robustness for demanding duty cycles and global operating environments. The GVM210 Gen 2 series is intended to support electrification across a broad set of on- and off-highway vehicle categories, including material handling, construction, mining, agricultural and utility vehicles, and specialty or purpose-built platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As vehicle manufacturers scale electrified platforms across all sectors, drivetrain components must deliver high performance in a more compact for factor, while maintaining reliability, ease of maintenance, and global compatibility. The GVM210 Gen 2 series was developed to address these requirements through a redesigned, application-focused approach to simplify system integration from prototype to series production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second-generation of the GVM210 also introduces installation-focused enhancements intended to increase integration flexibility across OEM platforms. To support a range of system designs and control strategies, Gen 2 offers pigtail connector options in 12-pin or 16-pin configurations. The 16-pin option allows use of two PT1000 temperature sensors on a separate mode, enabling full motor thermal protection with three-phase control even when torque is requested at low speed. These options are intended to help OEMs align motor feedback and protection features with their inverter strategy and vehicle duty requirements while simplifying installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, safety is advanced in the GVM210 Gen 2 series, with power connector option, through support for high-voltage interlock loop (HVIL) functionality, helping manufacturers meet modern electrified-vehicle safety expectations by enabling interlock strategies. The power supply immediately and automatically cuts off when the power connector or low-level connector is disconnected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For electro-hydraulic pump (EHP) systems operating in rugged conditions, the GVM210 Gen 2 strengthens sealing and overall robustness with an optional O-Ring placed on the prepared motor flange. These durability-oriented improvements optimise resistance in harsh environments and better protect frequently exposed interfaces, including greased spline coupling, ensuring consistent operation and preventing leaks between the motor and pump, as well as grease contamination from dust present in the motor environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
