This allows the upgrade of ageing alarm infrastructure, such as MPAS 90 and SA9100, while maintaining the clarity and reliability essential for safe operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alarm annunciators have long played a vital role in high-risk environments. While digital control systems have evolved significantly, the need for clear, unambiguous alarm indication remains essential. Industry standards such as SIL, IEC61508 and EEMUA 191 continue to emphasise the importance of effective alarm management, reinforcing the role of annunciators as a critical layer of safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile control systems have advanced, the need for clear and reliable alarm annunciation has not diminished,\u201d explained Ian Loudon, International Sales Manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniflex.com\/pub\/downloads\/omn262-omniflex-alarm-sector-overview-web.pdf?utm_source=Stone+Junction&amp;utm_medium=hard+news&amp;utm_campaign=alarm+annunciators&amp;utm_id=OMN555\"><strong>Omniflex<\/strong>.<\/a> \u201cMany operators still rely on legacy systems that are increasingly difficult to maintain and integrate. With OMNI16R, we are enabling a practical upgrade path \u2013 retaining the clarity and dependability of traditional annunciators while introducing the flexibility, connectivity and long-term performance required for modern industrial environments.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many facilities still operate decades-old legacy CSA annunciator systems which increases the pressure for operators to modernise. These are often large, panel-based installations with extensive hardwiring, making them difficult to expand, maintain and integrate with modern control environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OMNI16R has been developed as a direct replacement for these legacy systems, offering a compact and flexible alternative. Its modular architecture reduces wiring complexity and simplifies installation while enabling scalable configuration to suit both small and large alarm systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system incorporates advanced features and built-in communications, enabling integration with supervisory, SCADA and reporting systems, allowing operators to move from isolated alarm panels to fully connected alarm management environments, improving visibility and operational efficiency.
