Designed to support next-generation zonal architectures, these solutions deliver flexible, space-efficient connectivity that extends Ethernet to the network edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As automotive, industrial and robotics systems evolve toward fully Ethernet-based networks, designers face increasing demands for simplified architectures, reduced wiring complexity and efficient edge node integration. Microchip\u2019s latest 10BASE\u2011T1S devices address these challenges and are designed to meet AEC-Q100 and ISO 26262 functional safety standards, building on Microchip\u2019s VelocityDRIVE portfolio with additional multidrop connectivity solutions featuring a standardized, streamlined interface.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The LAN8679 transceiver provides a standardised Open Alliance 3\u2011Pin (OA3P) interface in a compact 8\u2011pin VDFN package, supporting space-constrained edge nodes, while reducing pin count and design complexity. The LAN8680 builds on these capabilities by integrating System Basis Chip (SBC) features, including power management, system wake\/sleep control and watchdog supervision. Both devices are engineered to enhance reliability and safety for demanding environments such as automotive and industrial applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Complementing these devices, the LAN8660X\/1X\/2X endpoint family integrates a PMD transceiver into a single-chip Remote Control Protocol (RCP) solution. This approach enables designers to deploy compact, fully integrated edge nodes for applications such as control systems, lighting and audio without the need for external PHY components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By leveraging 10BASE\u2011T1S multidrop topology, Microchip\u2019s solutions allow multiple nodes, typically eight or more, to share a single bus line.
