{"id":4080,"date":"2018-01-24T08:22:14","date_gmt":"2018-01-24T08:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=4080"},"modified":"2018-01-23T17:22:43","modified_gmt":"2018-01-23T17:22:43","slug":"web-based-access-control-system-for-buildings-and-facilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/web-based-access-control-system-for-buildings-and-facilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Web-based access-control system for buildings and facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rs-online.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RS Components<\/a><\/span> (RS) has announced availability of an award-winning Internet of Things (IoT) web-based system from ABUS that delivers superior access-control management for small- to medium-sized commercial and industrial buildings.<\/p>\n<p>A winner of the iF Design Award 2017, the ABUS wAppLoxx (is a highly innovative solution for professional access control that can manage access to as many as 20 doors in a building or facility.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe easy-to-use web-based system allows companies to easily manage access rights and quickly modify the system for changes in staff or new employees.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, use of a dedicated app even makes it possible to adjust system settings with just a few clicks by using a smartphone or tablet.<\/p>\n<p>The wAppLoxx access-control system combines the advantages of a traditional access-control system with flexible and smart online management via the web or via an intranet.<\/p>\n<p>Quick and easy creation of access rights is enabled for up to 150 people, for example, providing separate access rights for individual offices, archives or sensitive areas in building such as laboratories, medication storage facilities, warehouses or industrial complexes.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to providing access control, alarm systems can be connected via a cable to the wAppLoxx, thereby preventing false alarms and optimising overall building control.<\/p>\n<p>The system includes a control unit, which can be connected to 20 wAppLoxx electronic double-knob cylinders, which feature a sturdy design with high-quality stainless steel knobs with a synthetic cap.<\/p>\n<p>These cylinders integrate write-protected MIFARE DESFire transponder tags and connect with the control unit via 128-bit AES-encrypted wireless communications.<\/p>\n<p>Two types of cylinder are available: one for access control and a second type that is also suitable for alarm system control.<\/p>\n<p>An addition to the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/rs-components-supports-migration-to-next-generation-of-siemens-industrial-converters-for-motors-and-drives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RS<\/a><\/span> portfolio for the Industrial Internet of Things, the ABUS web-based wAppLoxx system is shipping now in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RS Components (RS) has announced availability of an award-winning Internet of Things (IoT) web-based system from ABUS that delivers superior access-control management for small- to medium-sized commercial and industrial buildings.
