text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nAs with many companies, over the years processes had evolved with few controls in place so there were lots of checks being undertaken, double-handling and, basically a lot of time being wasted unnecessarily.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5937\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5937\" style=\"width: 618px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/181111-Neil-Fedden-Photo2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-5937\" src=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/181111-Neil-Fedden-Photo2-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"LEAN efficiency: utility consultant Zenergi saves \u00a380,000\" width=\"618\" height=\"927\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5937\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fedden USP owner and Managing Consultant, Neil Fedden<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Zenergi made the decision to go ahead with the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/crowcon-embarks-on-lean-efficiency-programme-supported-by-fedden-usp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LEAN training<\/a><\/span> to give the wider team the tools which would enable them to review the company&#8217;s processes and procedures, with the overall aim of improving the customer experience.<\/p>\n<p>Fedden USP delivered a five-day Business Improvement Techniques (BITs) Level 2 workshop to 20 delegates split into three groups, two in Southampton and one in Essex.<\/p>\n<p>More than 300 processes were reviewed to identify where efficiencies could be improved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Impact on the bottom line<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the workshops, which cover all aspects of LEAN, the delegates work towards a nationally recognised qualification by identifying projects that will have an impact on the bottom line of the company.<\/p>\n<p>They then implement these projects over a 12 month period with mentoring provided by Fedden USP along the way.<\/p>\n<p>With the training now completed, Zenergi are starting to see the results coming through with a number of initial projects identifying savings for the company of over \u00a380k per annum.<\/p>\n<p>These savings have been made through streamlining and tracking the process for orders, speeding up navigation systems, improving response times and removing unnecessary duplication and multiple handling of items.<\/p>\n<p>Fedden USP owner and Managing Consultant, Neil Fedden, said: &#8220;We have enjoyed working with Zenergi and the delegates were all very enthusiastic and keen to learn the LEAN techniques.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received some very positive feedback from them and I&#8217;m pleased to report that all 20 passed the Adult Apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m sure that Zenergi will continue to see improvements identified and implemented as a result of this training over the coming years.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Southampton, UK-based utility consultant, Zenergi, has made significant improvements to both customer service and operational efficiency, while at the same time identifying over \u00a380k of savings per annum after embarking on a LEAN efficiency programme delivered by Gosport-based LEAN business specialists, Fedden USP, in conjunction with MIT Skills.
