{"id":6330,"date":"2018-04-09T07:48:18","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T06:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=6330"},"modified":"2018-04-09T09:59:01","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T08:59:01","slug":"engineering-jobs-vacancies-rise-by-3-9-as-the-labour-market-strengthens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/engineering-jobs-vacancies-rise-by-3-9-as-the-labour-market-strengthens\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineering jobs: Vacancies rise by 3.9%, as the labour market strengthens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s clear that businesses in the engineering sector are looking to freshen up their workforce this spring, with vacancies for engineering jobs \u00a0increasing by 3.9% last month.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s according to the latest statistics from <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cv-library.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CV-Library<\/a><\/span>, the UK independent job site, which compared data from March 2018, with February 2018.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe data explored fluctuations in pay, jobs and applications throughout March and the findings suggest that businesses across the industry were feeling confident last month.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the industry was one of the few to see an increase advertised salaries in March, rising by 3.3% when compared with data from March 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\">CV-Library<\/span>, comments on the findings:\u201cIt\u2019s positive to see that businesses are continuing to drive their recruitment efforts this spring, following a strong start to the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s more, the increase in engineering vacancies suggests that business confidence is growing, offering plenty of exciting opportunities for job hunters in the sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite application rates across the sector remaining stagnant last month, the amount of engineering candidates registering on <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/one-in-four-engineering-professionals-risk-job-opportunities-through-social-media-activity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CV-Library<\/a><\/span> increased by 9.3%, suggesting that there is an appetite amongst job hunters for new roles.<\/p>\n<p>Biggins concludes: \u201cIt\u2019s clear that businesses were pulling out all the stops to attract talented candidates last month.
