{"id":6356,"date":"2018-04-10T04:00:15","date_gmt":"2018-04-10T03:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=6356"},"modified":"2018-04-09T10:55:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T09:55:53","slug":"oil-and-gas-scotland-and-china-partnership-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/oil-and-gas-scotland-and-china-partnership-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Oil and gas: Scotland and China partnership agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Scottish First Minister has witnessed the signing of an agreement between Aberdeen-based Triton Marine &amp; Engineering Consultants and China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation (COOEC), a subsidiary of China\u2019s third largest National Oil Company, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).<\/p>\n<p>Triton Director Sean Holland visited Beijing to sign the deal alongside, Mr Jin Xiaojian, President of\u00a0COOEC.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will see COOEC provide inward investment\u00a0in to Triton over the next two\u00a0years allowing them to grow their team in Aberdeen to support COOEC, and giving them the capacity to bid for large Decommissioning, EPCi and Wind Projects.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe partnership comes after months of negotiations which have seen COOEC\u2019s Senior Management visit Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the signing First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, said: \u201cThis agreement is great news for the oil and gas industry in Scotland and for Aberdeen in particular.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCNOOC\u2019s investment is further evidence that Scotland is increasingly seen by international markets as a fantastic place to do business and invest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Holland said: \u201cWe are delighted to have secured this significant partnership with COOEC, one of the largest EPCi companies in the Asia Pacific Region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOOEC have substantial decommissioning experience and have recently completed a significant Decommissioning project for Chevron Thailand, receiving their highest safety award.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough Triton and COOEC come from different economic and cultural regions we have the same goal \u2013 to supply innovative integrated solutions to the Oil and Gas and Wind industries.
