The device integrates a GPS antenna, receiver and Network Time Protocol (NTP) timing server into a single ruggedised, environmentally hardened unit.<\/p>\n

IP66-rated, the SyncServer S80 server is ideal for outdoor installations with\u00a0physical security systems.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased the SIA has recognised our SyncServer S80 with this prestigious award, as the unique device enables Microsemi<\/a><\/span> to fill a void in the enterprise and video surveillance markets,\u201d said Paul Skoog, senior product manager for Microsemi. \u201cOur customers appreciate the product\u2019s impressive levels of accuracy, security and reliability, as these features are critical for time stamps on video surveillance footage and essential in proving when a video was recorded.\u201d<\/p>\n

The network-ready SyncServer S80 is designed for easy integration into existing physical security networks and serves as the primary source of accurate time for the essential time stamps on security video footage.<\/p>\n

The device easily connects into an existing Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) infrastructure that delivers power, timing and video feed through a single cable.<\/p>\n

In cases where Ethernet infrastructure is in place but PoE is not available, the SyncServer S80 can be powered through the addition of a Microsemi\u00a0single-port PoE injector or a managed six, 12 or 24 port PoE midspan.<\/p>\n

Ruggedised for\u00a0outdoor installations, the S80 can connect to the network alongside an existing outdoor camera installation with the addition of a Microsemi\u00a0PDS-104GO\u00a04+1 managed outdoor switch. Once connected to the network, the S80 is ready to be the source of authoritative NTP time stamps for all video camera recordings.<\/p>\n

The SIA recognised Microsemi<\/a><\/span> and other winners on April 11 during an awards ceremony at ISC West 2018, North America\u2019s largest physical security tradeshow, in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
