To do that, we have been working hard to develop educational products that can inspire students around the world with a strong emphasis on a project-based educational approach,\u201d said Fabio Violante, Arduino CEO. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to be working with MathWorks to facilitate this process in universities around the world, aligning education with industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following the success of the Arduino CTC 101 programme, the programme for upper secondary schools, the Arduino Engineering Kit enables college students and educators to incorporate core engineering concepts into their Arduino projects, thanks to industry-standard tools for algorithm development, system modelling, and simulation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe designed the Arduino Engineering Kit the way we would have liked to have learned mechatronics, control algorithms, state machines, and complex sensing when we were in our first years of engineering school: in a fun and challenging way,\u201d said David Cuartielles, <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/arduino-upgrades-its-create-cloud-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arduino<\/a><\/span>\u00a0co-founder and Arduino Education CTO. \u201cIt\u2019s all about hands-on activities built on top of well-grounded theoretical concepts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut more importantly, after finishing the basic materials, there\u2019s plenty of flexibility to experiment, for the students to deviate and test their engineering creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Inside the new kit is an easy-to-use Arduino MKR1000 board, several customised parts, and a complete set of electrical and mechanical components needed to assemble all three projects:<\/p>\n<p>* Self-Balancing Motorcycle: This motorcycle will manoeuvre on its own on various terrains and remain upright using a flywheel for balance.<br \/>\n* Mobile Rover: This vehicle can navigate between given reference points, move objects with a forklift, and much more.<br \/>\n* Whiteboard Drawing Robot: This amazing robot can take a drawing it&#8217;s given and replicate it on a whiteboard.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the hardware included, after registering online, the student will have access to a dedicated e-learning platform and other learning materials.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, they are granted a one-year individual license for MATLAB and Simulink, which provides them with hands-on experience in system modeling and embedded algorithm development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s engineers are being asked to build increasingly smart, autonomous and connected systems,\u201d said Roy Lurie, vice president of engineering, MATLAB products at <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/workflow-enables-customers-to-automatically-generate-test-benches-for-hdl-verification\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MathWorks<\/a><\/span>. \u201cThe Arduino Engineering Kit with MATLAB and Simulink gives students a unique, hands-on experience with the tools that are used to build these systems by engineers around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arduino announces its partnership with MathWorks, a developer of mathematical computing software for engineers and scientists, to reinforce the importance of Arduino at the university level in the fields of engineering, Internet of Things, and robotics.
