{"id":7255,"date":"2018-05-16T03:23:17","date_gmt":"2018-05-16T02:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=7255"},"modified":"2018-05-14T11:23:32","modified_gmt":"2018-05-14T10:23:32","slug":"tt-electronics-creates-centre-of-excellence-in-the-north-east-of-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/tt-electronics-creates-centre-of-excellence-in-the-north-east-of-england\/","title":{"rendered":"TT Electronics creates centre of excellence in the North East of England"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ttelectronics.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TT Electronics<\/a><\/span> has announced its intention to create a centre of excellence at its Bedlington facility in the North East of England.<\/p>\n<p>The location will provide a world class centre for engineering, manufacturing and operational excellence to support the company\u2019s anticipated growth plans, working in partnership with our customers to deliver smarter solutions together.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe Bedlington facility is home to the design and production of <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/tt-electronics-receives-faa-part-145-aviation-repair-station-certification\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TT Electronics<\/a><\/span>\u2019 high reliability microelectronic hybrid circuits and specialist current sensing, circuit protection and signal conditioning product lines.<\/p>\n<p>The facility is AS9100 certified &#8211; the quality standard recognised by the global aerospace market.<\/p>\n<p>TT Electronics has announced it is investing circa \u00a33 million to create a fit-for-purpose facility in the North East over decades to come.<\/p>\n<p>This investment follows over \u00a31 million invested in the facility to create a Class 6 clean room which opened in 2016, and a multi-chip module automated production line. This investment is already supporting production for global aircraft engine manufacturers, as well as providing a platform for winning additional new customers.<\/p>\n<p>The current site is being consolidated; buildings are being demolished and redeveloped and an improved space is being created for efficient engineering and manufacturing operations.<\/p>\n<p>The facility will continue to be run in line with TT Electronics\u2019 lean operational excellence initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>TT Electronics currently employs around 310 people in Bedlington, up more than 25% since 2015. The site runs a successful apprenticeship programme, creating opportunities for the next generation of engineers and developing future leaders in support functions.<\/p>\n<p>Headcount is expected to continue to increase in the next few years to support the anticipated growth for <a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/tt-electronics-completes-the-acquisition-of-stadium-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TT Electronics<\/a> in the North East.<\/p>\n<p>TT Electronics has further expanded its presence in the North East with the acquisition of <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\">Stadium Group<\/span> in April 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Stadium\u2019s largest UK facility is in Hartlepool, employing circa 140 employees and supporting customers in industrial and transportation markets, manufacturing electronic assemblies, power supplies and wireless connectivity solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the centre of excellence, Richard Tyson, CEO said: \u201cI am pleased to announce our investment to create a centre of excellence in the North East of England.
