{"id":7320,"date":"2018-05-18T09:00:21","date_gmt":"2018-05-18T08:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=7320"},"modified":"2018-05-16T10:39:55","modified_gmt":"2018-05-16T09:39:55","slug":"photorelay-for-factory-automation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/photorelay-for-factory-automation\/","title":{"rendered":"Photorelay for factory automation"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/toshiba-releases-automotive-40v-n-channel-power-mosfets-in-5mm-x-6mm-package\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Toshiba Electronics Europe<\/a><\/span> has released the new <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/toshiba.semicon-storage.com\/eu\/product\/opto\/photorelay.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TLP3122A photorelay<\/a><\/span> for factory automation and other industrial applications including building automation, security and semiconductor testing.<\/p>\n<p>The new photorelay integrates MOSFET devices fabricated using the latest U-MOS IX process to reduce on-state resistance.<\/p>\n<p>Housed in the small 4-pin SO6 package, the TLP3122A provides an off-state output terminal voltage (VOFF) of 60V, a constant on-state current (ION) of 1.4A and an on-state pulsed current (IONP) up to 4.2A.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe on-state resistance (RON) is typically just 0.13\u03a9, allowing highly efficient operation while the off-state current is only 1\u03bcA.<\/p>\n<p>The device offers fast switching times of 3ms (tON) and 1ms (tOFF) with an isolation voltage of 3750Vrms. It is fully approved to UL1577 for safety-critical applications.<\/p>\n<p>The normally-open TLP3122A serves as a replacement for 1-Form-A mechanical relays to improve system reliability and save the space required for relays and relay drivers.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the TLP3122A is rated for an operating temperature between -40\u00b0C and 110\u00b0C which is ideal for industrial applications and makes it easier to allow for a temperature margin in system-level thermal design.<\/p>\n<p>The new TLP3122A photorelay is upward compatible with the TLP3122 in the conventional 2.54SOP4 package.<\/p>\n<p>It also helps increase the system drive current, making it possible to serve as a replacement for a wider range of mechanical relays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Toshiba Electronics Europe has released the new TLP3122A photorelay for factory automation and other industrial applications including building automation, security and semiconductor testing.
