{"id":7365,"date":"2018-05-21T10:33:04","date_gmt":"2018-05-21T09:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=7365"},"modified":"2018-05-21T10:33:04","modified_gmt":"2018-05-21T09:33:04","slug":"fan-controllers-deliver-temperature-sensitive-fan-speed-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/fan-controllers-deliver-temperature-sensitive-fan-speed-control\/","title":{"rendered":"Fan controllers deliver temperature-sensitive fan speed control"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/rs-components-adds-high-performing-35w-150w-chassis-mount-smps-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RS Components<\/a><\/span> (RS) has announced the availability of new energy-efficient fan controllers together with the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/uk.rs-online.com\/web\/c\/?searchTerm=np-ebmpapst-0418_uk&amp;searchType=Offers&amp;dr=N\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">4300N series of fans<\/a><\/span> from ebm-papst, one of the leading makers of high-efficiency fans and motor products.<\/p>\n<p>The latest fan controller solutions are low-cost, credit-card-sized devices.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe DCP controllers offer optimised power consumption by providing temperature-sensitive speed control for four-wire PWM controlled compact fans at 12, 24 and 48V DC.<\/p>\n<p>The EC range offers temperature control for compatible fans fitted with energy-saving motors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre-set temperature profiles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both ranges offer a choice of pre-set temperature profiles and are supplied with a 2m temperature sensor lead, enabling a set of alarm functions such as over-temperature, fan and sensor failure, all without the need for an additional power supply to operate them.<\/p>\n<p>This latest generation also includes the brand new Configurable Generic Controller (CGC), which is suitable for both DC and EC fans and enables customers to adapt temperature profiles, making them ideal for use as a development kit.<\/p>\n<p>Also available from RS is the 4300N series of DC axial fans, which offers high airflow (up to 285m\u00b3\/h) with low operating noise and high efficiency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specially formed discharge vanes\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 119 x 119 x 32mm series features improvements such as specially formed discharge vanes and innovative winglets on the blade tips to improve the aerodynamic efficiency and prevent turbulence that can cause noise.<\/p>\n<p>More specialised versions are also available that offer speed signal output, PWM input, moisture protection, IP68 protection and external temperature sensor.<\/p>\n<p>This enables the fans to target a range of industries and applications including computing and telecommunications,\u00a0drives, automation,\u00a0solar inverters, as well as automation and a wide selection of other industrial applications.<\/p>\n<p>The ebm-papst 4300N series of DC axial fans and fan controllers are now shipping in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RS Components (RS) has announced the availability of new energy-efficient fan controllers together with the 4300N series of fans from ebm-papst, one of the leading makers of high-efficiency fans and motor products.
