{"id":7667,"date":"2018-06-01T10:00:28","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T09:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=7667"},"modified":"2018-05-31T11:04:00","modified_gmt":"2018-05-31T10:04:00","slug":"150%cb%9ac-automotive-qualified-polymer-electrolytic-capacitors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/150%cb%9ac-automotive-qualified-polymer-electrolytic-capacitors\/","title":{"rendered":"150\u02daC automotive qualified polymer electrolytic capacitors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KEMET introduces its first 150\u00b0C Automotive KO-CAP capacitor.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kemet.com\/T599\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">T599 KO-CAP High Humidity\/High Temperature Performance Polymer series<\/a><\/span> delivers stability and endurance under harsh humidity and temperature conditions.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\n<strong>Endurance under harsh conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Building on the the T598 series, <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/kemet-expands-x7r-250-volt-product-portfolio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KEMET<\/a><\/span> further refined the design, materials and manufacturing to ensure T599 delivers higher stability and endurance under harsh conditions.<\/p>\n<p>T599 capacitors pass 1,000 hours of humidity bias testing under 85\u00b0C with 85% relative humidity at rated voltage, and endurance testing at 150\u00b0C up to 1,000 hours, rendering it the only 150\u00b0C AEC-Q200 qualified polymer electrolytic capacitor available today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince 2015, T598 capacitors have offered engineers a breakthrough in high capacitance, low ESR and long lifetime with full AEC-Q200 qualification,\u201d said Dr Philip Lessner, <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/capacitors-for-fast-switching-wide-bandgap-semiconductor-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KEMET<\/a><\/span> Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. \u201cOver the last two years, designers have utilised polymer electrolytic capacitors in space-constrained or high-performance applications.<\/p>\n<p>Now that KO-CAPs meet both 150\u00b0C and AEC-Q200 guidelines, automotive engineers can incorporate these devices into powertrain designs.<\/p>\n<p>Qualification is compliant with AEC-Q200 guidelines and parts are manufactured in an ISO TS 16949 certified plant.
