{"id":7912,"date":"2018-06-12T08:00:17","date_gmt":"2018-06-12T07:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=7912"},"modified":"2018-06-11T10:31:48","modified_gmt":"2018-06-11T09:31:48","slug":"iot-development-boards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/iot-development-boards\/","title":{"rendered":"IoT development boards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seeed announces two new IoT development boards using u-blox technology<\/p>\n<p>u\u2011blox modules will be at the core of two new developer boards.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe boards, which are designed and produced by <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seeedstudio.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seeed<\/a><\/span>, one of China\u2019s largest distributors of microelectronic components for the international developer and maker communities, deliver cellular communication and positioning capabilities for a wide range of applications in the Internet of Things.<\/p>\n<p>The first of the two development boards is a Raspberry Pi HAT designed to augment Raspberry Pi computers with cellular communication as well as cellular-based positioning services.<\/p>\n<p>The board will be released in multiple variants (USA AT&amp;T),\u00a0USA Verizon, Europe, based on the u\u2011blox LARA\u2011R2 LTE Cat\u00a01 module series.<\/p>\n<p>The second board, the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.u-blox.com\/wioltetracker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WIO LTE Cat M1\/NB1 tracker<\/a><\/span>, \u00a0provides the essential hardware to make low-power location tracking devices for people, pets, and assets.<\/p>\n<p>It can be programmed using the Arduino IDE and is also Espruino (JavaScript) compatible.<\/p>\n<p>The board uses the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.u-blox.com\/en\/product\/max-m8-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">u\u2011blox MAX\u2011M8Q GNSS module<\/a> <\/span>to determine position, integrating signals from multiple GNSS satellite constellations, and connects to the cellular network using the u\u2011blox SARA\u2011R4 LTE Cat M1\/NB1 module.<\/p>\n<p>Developers and businesses can customise the standalone board and have it manufactured through Seeed\u2019s services to create solutions tailored to their specific needs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seeed announces two new IoT development boards using u-blox technology u\u2011blox modules will be at the core of two new developer boards.
