SMD caps are available in capacitance ratings from 2.2 to 560uF and offer the lowest ESL\/ESR figures of 1nH and 3mohms respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;POSCAP&#8217; is also an SMD type and comes in values from 3.9 to 1500uF and in small, space saving sizes of 2.0 x 1.25 up to 7.3 x 4.3mm.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;OS-CON&#8217; is a can type capacitor offering voltages ratings of 2.0 to 100VDC and capacitance ratings from 3.3 to 2700uF, making them also a viable alternative to electrolytic capacitors. Panasonic &#8216;Hybrid&#8217; capacitors offer temperature ratings up to 145 degrees C and are AEC-Q200 compliant.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/CAPACITORS_ZA_Electrolytic_Capacitor_Polymer_Hybrid_SMD_Single_RGB.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8112\" src=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/CAPACITORS_ZA_Electrolytic_Capacitor_Polymer_Hybrid_SMD_Single_RGB.jpg\" alt=\"Polymer capacitors offer improved performance over MLCC types\" width=\"718\" height=\"637\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/CAPACITORS_ZA_Electrolytic_Capacitor_Polymer_Hybrid_SMD_Single_RGB.jpg 718w, https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/CAPACITORS_ZA_Electrolytic_Capacitor_Polymer_Hybrid_SMD_Single_RGB-300x266.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 718px) 100vw, 718px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Particularly, with their small size factor and cubical form, Panasonic SP-CAPs and POS-CAPs are the &#8216;go to&#8217; products when it comes to the replacement of MLCCs.<\/p>\n<p>Polymer capacitors exhibit very similar performance to multi-layer ceramic capacitors when it comes to exhibiting a stable capacitance value over a wide frequency range, and much better than tantalum types.<\/p>\n<p>Also, polymer capacitors offer higher capacitance values than MLCC capacitors and they feature excellent bias characteristics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rutronik expands European distribution agreement with TDK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH and TDK Europe GmbH have significantly expanded their distribution agreement for the European market.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the TDK-Micronas and TDK-Lambda brands, in the future, Rutronik will also offer TDK\u2019s EPCOS brand of products.
