{"id":8151,"date":"2018-06-22T08:30:31","date_gmt":"2018-06-22T07:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=8151"},"modified":"2018-06-21T10:30:11","modified_gmt":"2018-06-21T09:30:11","slug":"integrated-solution-for-automotive-actuation-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/integrated-solution-for-automotive-actuation-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Integrated solution for automotive actuation applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Melexis announces a new <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.melexis.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">integrated sense and brushed motor drive solution that is primarily intended for automotive automation applications<\/a><\/span>, such as seat movement, window lift and sun roofs.<\/p>\n<p>The two-IC solution has the ability to integrate sensing directly into the drive electronics, thereby simplifying and shortening the design task for engineers designing low cost, high performance automotive solutions.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe MLX81325 is an integrated smart motor pre-driver with Local Interconnect Network (LIN) capability and a protocol controller, housed in a tiny QFN32 32-pin 5mm x 5mm package which enables fine PowerFET control for efficient, low noise brushed motor drive with smooth start and stop.<\/p>\n<p>The integrated solution contains four FET PWM pre-drivers, 32k Flash memory and 16k ROM.<\/p>\n<p>There are various diagnostic functions built in and current sense enables intelligent anti-pinch protection.<\/p>\n<p>A total of eight I\/O lines allow direct connection of Melexis position sensors, simplifying the system design \u2013 especially the provision of self-learning soft-stop features.<\/p>\n<p>The companion mixed signal CMOS-based MLX92255 is a second-generation dual Hall-effect latch with two speed outputs and an onboard voltage regulator.<\/p>\n<p>Each Hall sensor offers advanced offset cancellation and two open drain output drivers and the whole device is packaged in a small 5-pin TSOT package measuring just 2.75mm x 2.90mm.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the new release, Marc Lambrechts, Product Manager for Embedded Motor Drivers at <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/elexis-announces-second-generation-triaxis-resolver-motor-position-sensor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Melexis<\/a><\/span>, said: \u201cWhen selecting automotive solutions designers are looking for a compact and highly integrated solution that will allow them to deliver the required functionality with minimal design effort and at a low cost.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCombining our experience in sensing with motor drive technology has allowed us to meet that need with this solution.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, our advanced development kits and software debuggers significantly ease the development task for new and experienced designers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Melexis announces a new integrated sense and brushed motor drive solution that is primarily intended for automotive automation applications, such as seat movement, window lift and sun roofs.
