{"id":8180,"date":"2018-06-25T08:30:50","date_gmt":"2018-06-25T07:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=8180"},"modified":"2018-06-23T09:39:07","modified_gmt":"2018-06-23T08:39:07","slug":"dc-dc-converters-targeting-medical-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/dc-dc-converters-targeting-medical-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"DC\/DC converters targeting medical applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/rs-components-expands-rs-pro-test-and-measurement-portfolio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RS Components<\/a><\/span> (RS) has announced availability of a new range of <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.rs-online.com\/web\/generalDisplay.html?id=footer1\/release\/180621_traco_dc__medical_uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DC\/DC converters that target use in medical applications<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Offering high reliability and excellent value, the TIM 2 and TIM 3.5 series are manufactured by Traco Power and feature 2W and 3.5W DC\/DC converters, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Importantly for medical applications, the converters provide reinforced isolation of up to 5000V AC (RMS).<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nAlso, offering a low leakage current of less than 2\u03bcA, the converters are suited to use in insulating electrical equipment within the BF classification for patient applied parts.<\/p>\n<p>The converters are approved to IEC\/EN\/ES60601-1 3rd edition for 250V AC 2xMOPP up to an altitude of 5000m, and an ISO14971 risk management file is available.<\/p>\n<p>Further approvals include compliance with the latest EMC requirements IEC 60601-1-2 4th edition for medical equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Available in compact DIP-16 or SMD-16 packages, a wide range of series models are available with output voltages of 3.3, 5.0, 9.0, 12, 15, 24, \u00b112 and \u00b115VDC.<\/p>\n<p>Devices in the series offer input voltage ranges of 4.5-12V, 9.0-18V, 18-36V and 36-75V DC.<\/p>\n<p>Delivering high efficiencies, the converters also offer operation at environmental temperatures from \u201340 up to 95\u00b0C and up to 90\u00b0C for the TIM 3.5 series.<\/p>\n<p>Both series provide shock, vibration and thermal shock resistance, according to MIL-STD-810F.<\/p>\n<p>The Traco Power TIM 2 and TIM 3.5 series of DC\/DC converters are supplied with a 5-year product warranty and are shipping now in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RS Components (RS) has announced availability of a new range of DC\/DC converters that target use in medical applications.
