{"id":8204,"date":"2018-06-26T07:30:07","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T06:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=8204"},"modified":"2018-06-25T11:09:08","modified_gmt":"2018-06-25T10:09:08","slug":"common-mode-chokes-meet-highest-impedance-characteristics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/common-mode-chokes-meet-highest-impedance-characteristics\/","title":{"rendered":"Common mode chokes meet highest impedance characteristics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Schaffner has further extended its Common Mode Choke (CMC) product family with the introduction of the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.schaffner.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RN 218 series<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The nine high-performance RN 218 common mode chokes have been specifically developed to meet the highest impedance characteristics.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nCommon mode chokes suppress common mode or asymmetric noise generated by any kind of switching electronic device, including switch mode power supplies or other kinds of transistor driven logic.<\/p>\n<p>The common mode choke is at the centre of any design-in EMC filter and most beneficial in developing the perfect solution for customer specific filter designs in terms of cost, performance and size.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the different families available, typical applications include; (switch mode) Power Supplies, information and communications technology, medical devices and motor drives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Design-kits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the introduction of these new products <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/active-harmonic-filters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Schaffner<\/a><\/span> also unveils design-kits for RN and RT common mode chokes containing samples of typical choke types.<\/p>\n<p>Both are available in two versions covering horizontal or vertical choke forms and are specifically designed to ensure simple logistics and convenient assembly by end users.<\/p>\n<p>With their comprehensive choke portfolio Schaffner can cover a very wide range of applications.<\/p>\n<p>The critical issue is to select the right choke for each individual customer application.<\/p>\n<p>To speed up the time to market of designs and to make the selection as simple as possible a catalogue for chokes is available and can be downloaded from Schaffner&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>The catalogue covers most basic technical specifications and also gives a deeper insight in the usage and typical applications of each choke family.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time a datasheet is available for the RS chokes, which are the only differential mode chokes Schaffner is offering.
