The full list includes:<\/p>\n<p>* Legal \u2013 pay up by 13.1%<br \/>\n* Catering \u2013 pay up by 9.9%<br \/>\n* Marketing \u2013 pay up by 8.3%<br \/>\n* Sales \u2013 pay up by 4.9%<br \/>\n* Automotive \u2013 pay up by 3.9%<br \/>\n* Recruitment \u2013 pay up by 3%<br \/>\n* IT \u2013 pay up by 2.5%<br \/>\n* Accounting \u2013 pay up by 2.3%<br \/>\n* Engineering \u2013 pay up by 1.6%<br \/>\n* Manufacturing \u2013 pay up by 1.2%<\/p>\n<p>Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/being-an-engineer-is-one-of-the-most-desirable-jobs-in-uk-right-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CV-Library<\/a><\/span>, comments: \u201cWe typically see recruitment slowing down over summer months, but these hikes in pay suggest that businesses across the engineering sector are continuing to push hard to attract talented candidates into their roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s more, the industry is thriving right now, which is great news for both organisations and job hunters across the sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the data found that job vacancies in the engineering industry also rose last month, increasing by 1.3% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>While this further proves that companies are ramping up their recruitment efforts this summer, unfortunately application rates weren\u2019t quite keeping pace with employer demand.<\/p>\n<p>Biggins concludes: \u201cIt\u2019s clear from the data that businesses were remaining very active in their recruitment efforts last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith June marking two years since the Brexit vote, it\u2019s positive to see that companies are still pulling out all the stops to secure talented new recruits, especially as the engineering sector was predicted to be one of the hardest hit by the decision to leave.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat said, applications were not keeping pace last month, suggesting that job hunters in the sector are still feeling uncertain, even two years down the line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s more, our overall happiness tends to increase during the summer months, particularly given the spate of nice weather we\u2019ve been having recently, so it\u2019s not surprising to see that candidate appetite has taken a knock.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite this, organisations across the engineering industry need to keep working hard if they hope to see applications picking back up in the coming months.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With advertised salaries for engineering roles increasing by 1.6% in June, it\u2019s clear that businesses across the sector were feeling confident last month.
