{"id":8667,"date":"2018-07-26T07:00:37","date_gmt":"2018-07-26T06:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=8667"},"modified":"2018-07-25T14:24:17","modified_gmt":"2018-07-25T13:24:17","slug":"mcus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/mcus\/","title":{"rendered":"MCUs offer security and connectivity for IoT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Renesas S3A1 microcontroller group, now available from <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/simplifing-connection-of-iot-applications-to-enterprise-cloud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rutronik UK<\/a><\/span>, is suited for all applications that require a high level of security and IoT device-to-cloud connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>The MCUs have been released alongside the v.1.4.0 version update for the Synergy Software Package (SSP).<\/p>\n<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/Rutronik.com\/S3A1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S3A1 devices<\/a><\/span> provide a host of analogue and security features to realise a variety of\u00a0embedded systems and IoT designs at a competitive price point.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThey are compatible with other Synergy MCU groups in terms of features, pins and IP. They also offer high scalability and accelerate the\u00a0development process through code reuse.<br \/>\nThe S3A1 group runs with an ARM Cortex-M4 processor with floating point unit (FPU) operating at up to 48MHz.<\/p>\n<p>Other hardware features include 1MB code flash memory, a 192KB SRAM module, and security and encryption features (AES128\/256, GHASH, random number generator).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the microcontrollers integrate a segment LCD controller, a capacitive touch-sensing unit, numerous connectivity options, a 14-bit A\/D and a 12-bit A\/D converter. The maximum supply voltage is 5.5V.<\/p>\n<p>For the configuration of the MCUs, Renesas offers the TB-S3A1 Target Board Kit.
