{"id":8743,"date":"2018-08-06T07:00:29","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T06:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=8743"},"modified":"2018-08-03T09:58:46","modified_gmt":"2018-08-03T08:58:46","slug":"engineering-salaries-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/engineering-salaries-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineering salaries hit a three-month high, but majority still feel that they\u2019re underpaid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Average salaries for engineering roles hit a three-month high in July, as pay increased by 1.8% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>But, despite salaries for engineering roles seeing positive growth, a separate survey from CV-Library found that nearly two-thirds (63%) of engineering professionals believe that they\u2019re underpaid.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>Average salaries for engineering roles hit a three-month high in July, as pay increased by 1.8% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s according to the latest findings from the UK independent job board,\u00a0<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cv-library.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CV-Library<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The job board explored data taken from its own site over the past seven months and found that salaries have grown consistently since April 2018.<\/p>\n<p>But, despite salaries for engineering roles seeing positive growth, a separate survey from CV-Library found that nearly two-thirds (63%) of engineering professionals believe that they\u2019re underpaid.<\/p>\n<p>Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library and\u00a0EngineeringJobs.co.uk comments: \u201cAs organisations struggle to find people to fill their vacancies, we\u2019re seeing many businesses push up their pay packets, in a bid to attract the right people to their roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, a separate study of ours has found that the majority of engineering professionals believe they aren\u2019t being paid enough.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a disgruntled employee, or a manager, it\u2019s worth looking at\u00a0<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cv-library.co.uk\/salary-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">average salaries<\/a><\/span> in your industry to ensure that you\u2019re being paid, or paying, what you should be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/gender-equality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CV-Library<\/a><\/span>\u2019s July Job Market Report found that employers across the industry are clearly feeling defiant about their hiring efforts, with engineering jobs at a six-month high, increasing by 9.1% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, while average applications fell in July 2018, the amount of engineering candidates registering their CV on CV-Library is at a three-month high, increasing by 11.9% month-on-month. This suggests that many individuals are open to finding a new opportunity right now.<\/p>\n<p>Biggins continues: \u201cWith unemployment at a record low, all sectors across the UK are bearing the brunt of continued skills shortages.
