{"id":8750,"date":"2018-08-06T08:00:33","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T07:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=8750"},"modified":"2018-08-03T10:25:59","modified_gmt":"2018-08-03T09:25:59","slug":"valve-automation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/valve-automation\/","title":{"rendered":"Turnkey valve automation solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUMA has supplied a turnkey valve automation solution to Indonesian oil and gas company Pertamina that includes explosion-proof multi-turn SA actuators with intelligent AC controls and a SIMA control system.<\/p>\n<p>The delivery is part of the first phase of an expansion project at the TBBM Manggis LPG tank farm on the island of Bali.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nAUMA\u2019s <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.auma.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SIMA control system<\/a><\/span> was successfully integrated into the tank farm\u2019s existing SCADA system using Modbus RTU protocol to communicate with the valve actuators and the higher-level SCADA system.<\/p>\n<p>The actuators connect to the SIMA in a ring topology with integrated redundancy.<\/p>\n<p>At SCADA level, the <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\">AUMA<\/span> system operates in parallel to an existing system with older actuators using a proprietary communications protocol.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis project shows that upgrading to AUMA in existing plants is possible at any time and without any problems,\u201d says Stefan Kolbe, Sales Director Southeast Asia at AUMA. \u201cThe customer particularly appreciates the flexibility and future-proofness of the investment thanks to the open fieldbus standards. The short response times of the AUMA solution also allow them to optimise process control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pertamina is the state-owned company responsible for crude oil and gas production and processing in Indonesia.
