{"id":8963,"date":"2018-08-29T07:00:08","date_gmt":"2018-08-29T06:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/?p=8963"},"modified":"2018-08-28T15:51:25","modified_gmt":"2018-08-28T14:51:25","slug":"2w-and-3w-dc-dc-converters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/2w-and-3w-dc-dc-converters\/","title":{"rendered":"2W and 3W DC\/DC converters"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/rs-components-introduces-the-molex-connected-home-online-hub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RS Components<\/a><\/span> (RS) has announced the availability of new <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.rs-online.com\/web\/c\/?searchTerm=p-semis-l1-p2-0918_uk&amp;searchType=Offers&amp;dr=N\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2W and 3W DC\/DC converters<\/a><\/span>\u00a0in the compact SIP-8 package.<\/p>\n<p>Manufactured by Traco Power, the devices target a range of general electronics design applications, and are especially suited to deployment in factory automation equipment.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7565662001938327\" data-ad-slot=\"7585079586\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe new portfolio of DC\/DC converters \u2013\u00a0including the TEC 2, TEC 2(WI), TEC 3 and TEC 3(WI) series \u2013\u00a0have all been designed to deliver improvements in terms of cost, efficiency and performance compared to previously available 2W and 3W SIP-8 packaged DC\/DC converters.<\/p>\n<p>Offering increases in efficiency of more than 20%, the converters enable a significant reduction of thermal loss and thereby allow an expanded operating temperature range of \u201340 to +90\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>The converters offer fully regulated outputs from zero to 100% load, with no requirement for minimum load.<\/p>\n<p>The input-voltage range options have also been extended and now include 4.5 to 13.2V(DC).<\/p>\n<p>Models are also available with standard 2:1 input ranges, including 9 to 18, 18 to 36 and 36 to 75V(DC). The TEC 2WI and 3WI series also offer devices with ultra-wide 4:1 input-voltage ranges.<\/p>\n<p>Other key features include: functional I\/O isolation designed to meet IEC\/EN 60950-1 with a test voltage of 1600V(DC) for 60 seconds; continuous short-circuit protection; remote on\/off; and a three-year product warranty.<\/p>\n<p>The Traco Power TEC 2(WI) and 3(WI) DC\/DC converters are now shipping from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RS Components (RS) has announced the availability of new 2W and 3W DC\/DC converters\u00a0in the compact SIP-8 package.
