The full list includes:<\/p>\n<p>* Engineering &#8211; \u00a3380 a month (equivalent to \u00a34,560 a year)<br \/>\n* Marketing &#8211; \u00a3349 a month\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(equivalent to \u00a34,188 a year)<br \/>\n* Accounting &#8211; \u00a3345 a month\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(equivalent to \u00a34,140 a year)<br \/>\n* Hospitality &#8211; \u00a3320 a month\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(equivalent to \u00a33,840 a year)<br \/>\n* Education \u2013 \u00a3215 a month\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(equivalent to \u00a32,580 a year)<\/p>\n<p>Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of <span class=\"highlight highlight-blue\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engineernewsnetwork.com\/blog\/job-satisfaction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CV-Library<\/a><\/span>, comments: \u201cWhile we expect to invest a portion of our wages back into our everyday life, it\u2019s concerning to learn just how much professionals in the engineering sector are losing on work-related expenses. After all, we go to work to earn money \u2013 not spend it!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat said, it\u2019s good to see that the majority are factoring these outgoings into their monthly budget and it\u2019s important to take these expenses into consideration when you\u2019re looking for a job. That way, you can choose the location, salary and role that\u2019s going to be most financially beneficial to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Engineering professionals were asked to reveal the work-related costs they pay out each month. Unsurprisingly, commuting\/travel topped the list (85.3%), followed by lunch (80.9%), clothes\/uniform (45.1%), morning coffee (33.8%) and workplace snacks\/drinks (23.9%).<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, 62% of workers believe that employers should pay for some, if not all, of these work-related costs.<\/p>\n<p>Biggins concludes:\u201cIt\u2019s understandable that professionals want their employers to cover some of these costs, though if they\u2019re offering a competitive enough salary, this should cover a number of these expenses anyway. Some costs such as travel can be unavoidable, but professionals must also be frugal to ensure they\u2019re not needlessly spending their wages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf your current role is costing you a large chunk of your wages, it could be time to look for a better opportunity offering more pay, money-saving schemes or that is located closer to home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not sure what you could be earning?
