I/O modules for PROFINET and EtherNet/IP

ifm announces the launch of its latest I/O modules for PROFINET and EtherNet/IP applications. These cutting-edge modules are poised to revolutionise industrial communication with their robust performance and seamless integration into field applications.

Engineered for demanding environments, the new Ethernet modules ensure a reliable and efficient network structure. Enclosed in durable housings, they are well-suited for stringent hygiene requirements. The modules enable direct connection of sensors and actuators to the fieldbus level, eliminating the need for additional transmission systems. They are for high-frequency counter applications, allowing direct output switching without delay. Featuring L-coded M12 connections with 2x16A for daisy-chaining, the modules guarantee a stable power supply. With protection ratings of IP65, IP66, IP67, and IP69K (with stainless steel protective caps), they cater to diverse industrial needs.

The new I/O modules integrate seamlessly with ifm’s existing IO-Link master family, sharing standardised M12 connections and port configurations. This compatibility allows existing users to effortlessly expand their systems with these advanced modules. Moreover, the precise counting of sensor pulses, independent of the controller’s cycle time, enhances operational accuracy and efficiency.

ifm continues to push the boundaries of industrial automation through innovation and cutting-edge solutions, supporting customers to boost productivity and efficiency while prioritising sustainability and resource optimisation.
