Rainwater harvest systems for green infrastructure and building applications

NWPX Park‘s RainTrooper rainwater harvest systems are for commercial and residential use, including green infrastructure and low impact development projects. Rainwater harvesting is the collection, conveyance, and storage of rainwater, and the collected water can be used for nearly all non-potable applications, including irrigation, toilet flushing, bathroom sinks, mechanical systems, washing machines, car washing, custodial uses, and more. RainTrooper supports projects ranging from simple collection systems to multiple end-use applications at larger facilities, helping customers make better use of available rainfall across a broad range of building and site conditions.

To support varied project requirements, RainTrooper is available in precast concrete, fiberglass, and steel models, with portable models also available. The system includes inlet, outlet, and vent connections, offers overflow protection, is designed for easy installation and maintenance, and meets all building codes. This pre-engineered flexibility helps support efficient integration into both new and existing projects.

RainTrooper systems may include catchment devices, debris filtration, flush diverters, water storage tanks, pump systems, and water disinfection systems. Working together, these components support the collection, treatment, storage, and delivery of harvested rainwater for future use in a variety of non-potable applications. Portable configurations also support projects where permanent infrastructure may not be practical.

The system also incorporates key features that help maintain water quality inside the tank. Once a maximum water level is reached, the innovative overflow siphon uses a skimmer effect to remove floating particles lighter than water, including flower pollen and oils. This regular overflow helps maintain high water quality and allows for oxygen diffusion at the water surface, while narrow slits in the overflow siphon help prevent rodents from entering the tank.

In addition, the floating intake hose draws water from just below the surface, where the cleanest water resides. The calmed inlet helps prevent disturbance and re-suspension of fine sediments while introducing oxygen into the lower layers of the tank to help maintain a fresh supply of water and prevent anaerobic conditions from forming. Together, these design features support cleaner stored water and reliable system performance over time.
