Surge suppressors for extra protection

Power surges are unavoidable, but that doesn’t mean that we have no choice but to suffer their effects

Cressall Resistors has expanded its offering by supplying a range of ZORC high-frequency transient over voltage surge suppressors.

Compact and easy to install, ZORC suppressors can halve the magnitude of steep wave-front surges by providing a matched cable terminating impedance under transient conditions, eliminating any refraction of the surges.

There are many other advantages to installing a ZORC surge suppressor. As well as protecting motors, generators and transformers throughout their service life, the suppressors also help prevent costly equipment downtime that could occur as a result of insulation failure.

While over voltage can cause significant harm to equipment, implementing an effective surge suppressor can reduce its magnitude to help prevent damage

Simone Bruckner, managing director of Cressall Resistors, comments on the latest addition to the company’s offering. He explains: “Cressall takes pride in being able to offer its customers a vast range of power solutions. From dynamic braking resistors that help safely dissipate excess energy to load bank testing to ensure generator efficiency, we are experts in designing solutions to keep equipment safe and running smoothly.

“ZORC provide high quality surge suppressors that combat a multitude of overvoltage issues, making them the perfect fit to complement our own products.”
