Maintenance-free polyurethane timing belt for improved dimensional stability

Incorporating a variety of graded steel cords in the high-grade polyurethane construction results in a belt with better elasticity and higher flexibility

Steigentech has launched the Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belts range.

With excellent abrasion- and shear-resistance, the polyurethane timing belts offer high strength and tractive resistance.

Incorporating a variety of graded steel cords in the high-grade polyurethane construction results in a belt with better elasticity and higher flexibility.

Long-lasting performance, strength, cleanliness and accuracy combine in a belt that can also be tailored to specific application requirements.

Produced using an advanced thermoset moulding process, Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belts deliver peace of mind through repeatability and consistency of quality. It is also a cleaner alternative to rubber timing belts for applications including the food and robotics industries, medical technical equipment, 3D printing machines and more.

The specially-developed precision-moulding endless polyurethane process ensures high pitch precision across the entire belt.

Exact replication of fine contours makes this process particularly suitable for small pitches.

In tests, Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belts outperformed equivalent competitive products by up to 30% in wear resistance and strength.

With a temperature range of -30 °C to +80 °C, the Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belt can operate at a sustained peak of up to 110 °C. They are also resistant to oil and extremely durable.

Helicoidal tension cords are embedded in the high-grade mixed thermoset polyurethane compound. They deliver an extremely high breaking load with low elongation, resulting in high transmission power consistently across the application. This also ensures that Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belts are maintenance-free.

Encapsulated within the polyurethane layers, steel wires form a tensile cord that delivers an extremely high breaking load, with low elongation to reach high transmission power.

With exceptional dimensional stability and rigidity, the high-grade mixed thermoset polyurethane compound provides excellent abrasion resistance and resistance to wear, fatigue and environmental conditions.

The Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belt is non static conductive, providing a maximum oil and ozone resistance and meets RoHs and REACH requirements.

Available in imperial metric classical trapezoidal as well as in curvilinear tooth profiles, the Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belt is manufactured to the highest international manufacturing and quality standards available (DIN/ISO 5296 Parts 1&2 /IP24 RMA-MPTA (Imperial) and DIN 7721 – ISO 13050 /IP27 RMA-MPTA (Metric)).

The Steigentech PowerPlus PU Timing Belt is available with aramid or polyester cords for special applications, such as non-magnetic, water-exposed and high flexible drives.

The range offers 300+ references and sizes.
