Customised potentiometers for tailor-made solutions

Precision potentiometers perform key functions in medical, laboratory, industrial and measurement technology applications, including setpoint specification, signal adjustment and position feedback. Each application has its own specific requirements regarding electrical design, mechanical integration and connection concept. Therefore, precision potentiometers must not only cover the appropriate signal range, but also fit within the available installation space and be suitable for operation and integration with the existing assembly. The electrical design depends on the function that the potentiometer performs within the application. Different signal parameters take precedence when setting a setpoint than when adjusting a signal or providing position feedback. Megatron can customise the design to ensure compatibility with the existing evaluation electronics in terms of the resistance value, characteristic curve, electrically usable angle of rotation and output signal.

Equally important is mechanical integration: whether a potentiometer can be used without compromising the design depends on the available installation space, mounting options, shaft geometry and operational feel. Megatron can adapt the components so that they fit perfectly into the device structure, user interface or mechanics. The connection technology is also tailored to the assembly and installation processes. Depending on the application, potentiometers can be supplied with stranded wires, connectors, or pre-assembled cable terminals. This ensures that the electrical connection is compatible with the device architecture.
