Global Drain Technologies Introduces Installer‑Friendly Drain Systems

Drainage solutions help contractors reduce installation time, lower labour costs, and improve jobsite efficiency

Global Drain Technologies (GDT) announces a renewed commitment to installation partners with a suite of installer-friendly drain products and support services designed to increase contractor profitability while reducing complexity on the jobsite. GDT is engineering drainage solutions that are faster to install, easier to maintain and better aligned with the realities of industrial and commercial construction.

Traditional slot drains are often manufactured with metal tabs welded into the slot to keep the drain body from tightening during installation, requiring installers to manually remove each metal tab with pliers once the concrete has cured. GDT has developed a tabless slot drain design, available on select drains, that replaces welded metal tabs with precision 3D-printed tabs that can be removed by hand, eliminating a labour-intensive step and reducing the risk of damaging the drain edge or coating while helping contractors move more efficiently from pour to final finish.

To streamline trench and slot drain alignment, GDT’s E-Z levelling system enables installers to set and secure levelling rods more easily and accurately. The system uses a simple mechanical design that allows contractors to tighten a single bolt to lock each leveling rod in place with a standard impact driver, minimising time spent fine-tuning elevations and supporting consistent slopes for effective drainage performance.

For facilities using seamless resin floor systems, GDT offers the KeyForm drainage accessory, an aluminum form that creates a precise keyway along the drain perimeter during the concrete pour. By forming the keyway in a single step, KeyForm eliminates the need for manual chipping or cutting around the drain body to accommodate floor coatings, saving labour, reducing dust and strengthening the bond between liquid-applied floor coatings and drains.

GDT’s presloped slot drain systems are engineered with an integrated slope, allowing the top of the drain to be installed level while the drain body gets progressively deeper below grade to maintain positive drainage from inlet to outlet. This design promotes continuous flow and supports self-cleaning behaviour as water carries debris toward the outlet, while presloped systems also simplify layout and grade co-ordination for contractors.

Beyond physical products, GDT supports installation partners through its Alliance Partner Program, which provides education, one-on-one support and qualified project referrals to trusted contractors, and through a Technical Resource Hub that serves as a single destination for CAD and Revit files, installation resources and promotional materials. GDT’s installer-friendly products and programmes reflect an ongoing commitment to partnering with contractors to innovate in ways that benefit both the end user and the installation team.
