Drives offer power ratings up to 450kW

Parker Hannifin has extended its AC30 series of variable speed AC drives up to 450 kW output rating to cater for high power applications.

The announcement follows a recent update to introduce a resolver feedback option, bringing further closed-loop capabilities to the portfolio and underlining Parker’s commitment to offering its customers even more functionality across the AC30 series.

Flexibility, reliability and simplicity are core design attributes of the AC30 series, which is available in several different frame sizes to suit the widest possible range of applications.

High levels of control are possible, for applications ranging from simple open-loop pumps and fans to closed-loop process line applications.

The AC30 series provides cost-effective, reliable and accurate motor speed control of either AC induction or permanent magnet (PMAC) servo motors.

Energy monitoring

Offering integral energy monitoring capability, the AC30 series allows customers to match motor speed to fluctuating application demands, therefore supporting reduced power use with the associated cost savings.

As well reduced operating costs, the mechanical life of motors, pumps, fans and ancillary equipment such as ducting or pipework, can be extended by using the AC30.

Although simple in design, the AC30 series has a comprehensive feature set and high levels of functionality.

For example, users can enjoy the benefits of integrated macros for a host of different applications, while the Codesys-based Parker Drive Developer (PDD) software tool enables the creation of sophisticated PLC functionality within the drive that would previously have necessitated a separate PLC.

Flexibility and high modularity ensure that a wide range of communications protocols are compatible with the drives; these include Profinet, Profibus and EtherCAT, all of which can be added easily, along with I/O modules.
